Ergonomics Training: Visual Display Unit 2019

02 May 2019, OSHMO successfully organized an "Ergonomics Visual Display Unit" course devoted to staff exposed to hazardous risks. The best approach is to provide the proper exposure and method to reduce the risk rate. Dr Ezrin Hani Binti Sukadarin as a university lecturer & specialist in Ergonomics has been invited as a speaker. The response & cooperation provided by the participants is very satisfying. OSHMO Director Mr Muhammad Hairynizam Bin Muhd ​​Taib also attended the course.

FIRST AIDER MEET & GREET

29 April 2019, OSHMO organized Basic Occupational First Aid, CPR & AED Training to train and refresh the skills of First Aiders appointed by respective responsibility centers or pusat tanggungjawab (PTJs). The training was conduct by Pusat Kesihatan Universiti lead by Dr. Ei Ei Chaw @ Fatamar Bi Bi Abas. Participants were from various PTJs which had not had their own trained in-house first aiders.

INDUCTION COURSE FOR CONTRACTORS/ KURSUS INDUKSI KONTRAKTOR (KESKO) SERIES 1/2019

UMP Gambang, 20 Mac 2019: Occupational Safety and Health Management Office (OSHMO) UMP organized the Induction Course for Contractors or Kursus Induksi Pengurusan Kontraktor (KesKo) Program held at Bilik Latihan Tun Teja. The program was made compulsory for all contractors/vendors registered with UMP before they could begin their work as contracted. The contractors/vendors were exposed to basic knowledge on occupational safety and heatlth to ensure safe and health work culture can be implemented. This program would be organized from time to time in order to ensure the participation of all registered contractors/vendors.

Basic Occupational First Aid, CPR & AED Training

27-28 September 2018: OSHMO organised Basic Occupational First Aid, CPR & AED Training to train First Aiders appointed by respective responsibility centres or pusat tanggungjawab (PTJs). The training was conducted from by CERT Academy. Participants were from various PTJs which had not had their own trained in-house first aiders.

Seminar Serantau Keselamatan & Kesihatan Pekerjaan Dari Perspektif Maqasid Al-Shariah

20 Oktober 2018 - Seminar Serantau Keselamatan dari Perspektif Maqasid Al-Shariah anjuran bersama Pejabat Pengurusan Keselamatan & Kesihatan Pekerjaan (OSHMO) di Hotel Grand Darul Makmur,Kuantan, Pahang. Hadir merasmikan program Penolong Naib Canselor (Hal Ehwal Korporat & Kualiti ), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ishak Ismail.

Defensive Motorcycle Riding Training

27-28 September 2018: OSHMO organized a special course on Defensive Motorcycle Riding Training. A total of 30 UMP staff from various PTJ attended the training. The course was held at Tun Teja Training Room in UMP Gambang Campus. Trainer is from MSOSH.

Petron Road Safety UMP 2018

Seramai 1,300 mahasiswa Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) menyertai aktiviti Cabaran Amazing Race dalam memupuk kesedaran Keselamatan jalan raya bersempena Program Petron Road Safety yang diadakan di UMP Kampus Gambang pada 24 September 2018 yang lalu.

Majlis diserikan dengan kehadiran Timbalan Naib Canselor (Hal Ehwal Pelajar & Alumni), UMP, Profesor Dato' Dr. Yusserie Zainuddin, Ketua Keselamatan, Sekuriti, Kesihatan dan Alam Sekitar Korporat Petron Malaysia, Lokman Hani.

Hadir sama Pengarah Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Negeri Pahang, Mohammad Abdullah, Pengarah Jabatan Keselamatan Jalan Raya Negeri Pahang, Noor Jihati Abdul Kadir dan Pengarah Pejabat Pengurusan Keselamatan & Kesihatan Pekerjaan UMP, Muhammad Hairynizam Muhd Taib.

Menurut Profesor Dato' Dr. Yusserie, pihak universiti merakamkan penghargaan kepada Petron Malaysia kerana memilih UMP antara tujuh lokasi penganjuran Petron Road Safety Programme pada tahun ini.

Ujarnya, UMP sentiasa terbuka untuk bekerjasama dengan mana-mana agensi kerajaan dan swasta untuk mengelolakan inisiatif seumpama ini bagi memanfaat masyarakat terutama melibatkan mahasiswa universiti.

“Peredaran zaman telah mengubah landskap pemikiran dan cara penerimaan generasi muda yang lebih tertarik kepada bentuk penyampaian advokasi dan pendidikan kepada mereka.

“Justeru, saya percaya program advokasi yang bersifat kreatif dan santai ini dapat diterima generasi muda, “ katanya.

Selain itu, elemen pembelajaran aktif dalam kandungan program ini dapat disampaikan dengan berkesan mengenai kesedaran keselamatan jalan raya dalam suasana yang santai.

Tambah beliau lagi, dalam mengimpikan Malaysia sebagai sebuah negara maju yang bukan sahaja berpendapatan tinggi tetapi juga berbudaya tinggi, maka sikap rakyat negara ini mengenai etika di jalan raya perlu terlebih dahulu ditransformas dan mengharapkan lebih banyak program seumpama ini pada masa akan datang.

Manakala menurut Lokman Hani pula, pihaknya teruja dalam memperkenalkan program ini yang dapat memupuk tabiat keselamatan jalan raya dan tahun ini merupakan tahun keempat penganjurannya melibatkan lebih 7,000 mahasiswa.

Pihaknya percaya menerusi program ini dapat mencapai lebih ramai mahasiswa dan mengajar mereka untuk memastikan perjalanan di atas jalan raya lebih selamat dan mencegah kemalangan.

Dalam pada itu, cabaran keselamatan jalan raya Amazing Race Petron menggunakan pendekatan yang menyeronokkan, menarik dan interaktif.

Pasukan mahasiswa ini akan bersaing bagi menyelesaikan empat pitstop keselamatan jalan raya yang terdiri daripada kuiz keselamatan jalan raya, pengenalpastian tayar yang rosak, pentafsiran papan tanda keselamatan jalan raya dan penyelesaian ujian tempat letak kereta termasuk cabaran manuever motosikal.

Program ini merupakan anjuran Petron Malaysia dengan kerjasama Pejabat Pengurusan Keselamatan & Kesihatan Pekerjaan dan Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan, Jabatan Keselamatan Jalan Raya Malaysia (JKJR).

Safety Training: Respirator, Hearing & Head Protection

On 14 August 2018, OSHMO organized a customized course on Safety Training: Respirator, Hearing & Head Protection. This course was attended by laboratory staff from all faculties and COE with laboratory facilities. The course was conducted by Permula Chemicals.
